|Rod Farney |
"I am a naturalist at heart with a deep love for its subjects. This is why I relate to scenes and people of the land, both past and present. I believe that everything one sees has a message. Through my art, I strive to reflect this message."
Salida, Colorado, known as the "Heart of the Rockies", has been home to Rod Farney for thirty years. He was born in Seneca Falls, New York, but was raised in Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from Southern Colorado State College with a BA degree in Art Education. He taught art for the Salida Public School District and retired from teaching after thirty years of service. He now has more time to create his own work.
"I want to create works that touch people- that give the viewer a sense of comfort and an appreciation of life."
